Process of Applying for JPA Scholarship Continuation in Undergraduate Study

 Hi guys, I am here to share with you my experience as a JPA scholar in Malaysia to apply for JPA scholarship continuation for my undergraduate study. I hope that this blog would help to clarify queries and doubts that you ( as a JPA scholar ) have before or after ending your pre-university studies which I faced before during my time.

**Kindly please note that I am a JPA scholar of PROGRAM PENAJAAN 9A+ TAHUN 2019 ( SPM 2018 ) It might have some changes for JPA on the following batches but I think it might not be very much :) So if there is an error in the information stated here, kindly please email or message me through my FB/Insta or leave comments on the corrections.

In fact, I had taken JPA scholarship for my Pre-University study which is A-Level Programme in Taylor's College in Subang Jaya, Malaysia. I believe that many of you might have lots of confusion about what to do next to continue your JPA scholarship after completing your Pre-University studies just like me.

So, as all recent JPA scholars know, there is esila website used for application and updating your details as well as information to JPA. There are three main links that you would have to use in the website:

1. Application link eg: permohonan xxxxx 
> This is used to key in your details including personal and family, college and university, study duration, results etc.

2. e-Penawaran 
> It is used for downloading documents required for the contract

3.MySelf system
>This is basically a platform for JPA scholars to update their school results from time to time to JPA ( results for every semester )

注: e-Penawaran and MySelf is found on the small tabs on the right below the notice regarding the latest information ( info semasa ) 

 Basically, you may start to apply for the course/ university that you prefer, which is included in the university list given by JPA, if you wish to continue your scholarship at undergraduate study, either during your pre-university studies or afterward. For me, I chose to apply the universities afterwards as I felt that it would be better for me to focus on my study first; I applied for IMU and NUMed in Malaysia for the MBBS course whereby you could find in my other blogs regarding the details :)

What to do NEXT?

<<Click on the link whereby you used for your Pre-U JPA scholarship application, which would direct you to a portal>>

1. Once your Pre-University final results or CGPA are released, update it on the portal.

2. Once you have received unconditional offer letter from the university that you actually preferred, update this on the portal as well, which would then making an extension for you to fill in details regarding your undergraduate study ( course type, duration of study etc. )

**Any details regarding your undergraduate study required to be updated to the portal, please do not hesitate to contact the admission team in your university either by email or phone call :)
Don't be shy to ask !**

3.Remember to click on the "simpan maklumat" to keep your details. 

4.Once you have filled in all the details required, just proceed to the next tab "Cetak Slip" to print out your application slip. 

Then, you just have to follow the list given in the same tab, print out the documents required and certified them, hence arrange in order and send them to the JPA office using the receiver address given. The contract would be released soon on e-Penawaran once JPA received and processed your documents. You have to check your e-Penawaran from time to time; They might ( or not ) inform you regarding the release of the contract through email. 

p/s : This might take sometime like maybe a week as they need sometime to process and key in your data! So please wait for it patiently and check it from time to time

It's actually quite easy and simple for the next procedures as all the details that we key in while processing the contract for Pre-University study JPA scholarship were still kept in the record. You just have to update your personal details and details of your parents if there is any change as the previous contract. 

1. Once the contract is released, read the offer letter given as well as LAMPIRAN A provided before you confirm your decision to accept the scholarship.

2.Proceed to next tab and click on the button to confirm that you agree to accept the scholarship.

!! You have to complete these two steps in shorter time given once your contract is released. It might be one day just like mine. So please do be cautious of the dateline for confirming that you want to accept the offer. Also, quickly send an email or contact the particular JPA department responsible for e-penawaran if there is any incorrect part found in your JPA offer letter. 


3. Then, check and update the details regarding you, your parents, your bank and penjamin.

4. Print out the documents for the last tab as what you have done during your first application.

*Take note!
> The contract has to be printed in three copies using 80-gsm A4 papers with only one page per sheet
> Every contract has to be " matikan setem" 
> Please remember to write in black and capital letter while filling in details in the contract


5. Print out the slip for confirmation of contract once you key in details regarding your saksi. 

6. Send the documents in sequence to JPA office and wait for their feedback/ reply.

So, most of you might question :

" Do I need to lapor diri tamat pengajian at MYSELF after completing my pre-university study? "

The answer is either YES or NO. What I mean is that for pre-university study, we actually need to lapor diri as well as updating our results on MYSELF. HOWEVER, for us, the JPA officers would help us to key in the details related in MYSELF as well as LAPOR DIRI, hence we don't have to do anything for MYSELF but just focus on processing the documents and updating information on the application link and e-Penawaran, as well as sending them to JPA office. 
You DO NOT need to lapor diri by your own after PRE-University, unless it is mentioned in your talk or by JPA.


Yet, during your university studies, you need to update your academic details, particularly results each semester on MYSELF within the particular duration given. Please note that this is a responsibility as a JPA Scholar and a MUST. :)

* However, there might be slight changes between different years. If you are unsure about it, please be brave and ASK. It is always better than none.

In brief, after completion of pre-university study, to continue your JPA scholarship for undergraduate study, you DO NOT have to lapor diri ( you may do so if you want, but make sure that you choose "sambung pengajian" ), instead you just need to
....update details regarding your final results or CGPA, undergraduate study and the latest personal information
....send the documents to JPA
.....AND WAIT PATIENTLY

Pieces of advice from EION:

> Please do refer to the JPA university and course list provided during your previous application for JPA offer for pre-university study. This is to make sure that you won't be given false hope. 

>Please note that for recent JPA scholarship, it only sponsors students to study locally in universities in Malaysia. Yet, it is not restricted to the public universities only but also private one. So, please check the list given.

>Take note of the duration time given for you to confirm your acceptance of JPA offer on e-Penawaran.

> If you want to contact JPA for your queries, please check properly for the correct department contact details that you need to refer to which is listed on the esila website. The JPA has a lot of departments. Your application and contract queries might have to be answered by two different departments. So, please check before you made a double work.

>Wait patiently as the process take some time.

>Please do not hesitate to contact JPA if you have any problems and queries regarding the process. You may not call them, you may email them if you feel shy to talk. Also, the officers sometimes would not be around or in outstation, so if you call them and the call was failed, please try it again and again until you manage to reach them. Be determined and perseverance !!!

>Check your contract again and again before you sign it. 

>Do not try to procrastinate :) The earlier you settle it, the more time you left to break before you start your university.
